In the 18th century, London was awash with gin. Known somewhat ominously as “Mother’s Ruin”, it poured through the streets, fuelling poverty, crime and moral decline. Today, you can try a wide variety of gins (infinitely tastier than those on offer in Georgian times) at our dedicated gin bar in the Wardrobe, or sample some delicious wines and spirits in the honesty bar of the Library.
